Why Introducing Yourself like a Movie Star Matters

DO YOU SAY THIS

I'm a singer

I'm a retired cop

I'm a teacher and mom

I'm a real estate agent

I'm a grandmother

boooring, waaa waa

It's not just that it's blah

How do you feel when you say it

Do you feel special? magical?

Didn't think so

What I know for sure is that your thoughts and words make all the difference in the world

Your thoughts and words can make you feel 'blah' or they can make you feel like the movie star that you are!

We're all the movie star of our own life

Why not feel like one

Why not BE ONE

INSTEAD OF THIS

I'm a labor and delivery nurse and mom of two boys (sometimes the doctor doesn't show up, so I actually have to deliver the baby)

For fun I like to run

HOW ABOUT THIS

I assist women with the magic of bringing life into the world. While also guiding and learning from my two rambunctious toddler sons.

I'm full of witty, bubbly energy. Running makes me feel alive and free, and sometimes I get my feet into superwoman mode and compete in marathons around the country.

MOVIE STAR!

See the difference?

All you have to do is take a few minutes and think about what you're really about

Write it down

Start twirling around with different, special words

You can use the format that I've used for the Nurse example, only add your own description

Then feel the magic!

The specialness of why you're here right now

That can and will change

This is MOVIE STAR YOU right now

That doesn't mean you have to actually introduce yourself with these exact words

But if you're comfortable saying it, go for it!

Otherwise, keep it in your head

Think of it when you do introduce yourself

And some of that magic will slip out

MOST IMPORTANT

You know and feel, like the MOVIE STAR of your life
