60 Year Personal Story and the World

TWO SIGNIFICANT MEMORIES

I grew up in a small farm town in Illinois of 600 people

There are two significant memories when I was little

FIRST - I was five years old

Two girls were throwing rocks at me and I didn’t leave

My mom had to come and get me

Why didn’t I leave?

I guess I felt I deserved it

SECOND - I was six years old,

My best friend got mad at me and called me Blacky

Most of the kids in my school were Irish Catholic, blond hair, blue eyes.

My mom is Japanese, my skin is darker

I guess I am blacky compared to them

I deserved it

Fast forward to H.S.

A miracle happens

I'm voted Homecoming Queen by the whole school

WOW

I was beyond excited

That was the BEST moment of my life at that point

Did I feel like I deserved it

Not really

It was in that very moment that I decided my life quest

Would be to study, grow, learn

To become

Stronger

Confident

Smarter

Better

more Spiritual

....

Deserving

It's 2021 I’m now 57 years old

I DID IT

I love myself

And know I'm DESERVING

You're DESERVING

We're all DESERVING

I wanted to share my story

Because my story

Has a span of almost 60 years

In 60 years, the world hasn’t changed

People are still mean to others

because of...

The color of their skin,

Their sexual preference

Religion

Decisions they make

ENOUGH

WAKE UP

We’re all the same

Me and you

We’re connected

It's scientifically proven

Every single human

Has felt the same emotions

Hatred . Sadness . Shame . Joy . Happiness . Love

Let’s stop judging and

Start Loving - Period

The next time you pass another person on the street

The next time you see what someone wrote on Facebook

Focus on what you LOVE about that person

I love her curly purple hair

I love his sparkly brown eyes

I love those red flip flops

How does that feel

It’s time

As John Lennon said many years ago

Imagine all the People

Living Life in Peace, You uuu

You May Say I’m a Dreamer

But I’m Not the Only One

Do you feel it's time?
